Fast year, huh?

2010 will soon be over. Did it fly by for you or was it too long?
Seems like it was summer just last week and now December is almost here.
It's been a rough year for me trying to make money and secure a lasting way of
making ends meet. I am praying that 2011 will be a whole lot better and wish all of you a great year too. This pic is from the sixties when we used to go to Grandma's for lunch on Sundays.

new picture on facebook

I just posted a class photo that Marilyn sent me of her sixth grade class, led by Mrs. Caldwell. Look on the second page of the old pictures album, we now have two pages of photos in there. Also if anyone has an old class photo of my grandmother's class (Mrs. Mildred McDaniel) I sure would appreciate a copy to post here and for other reasons of course.

Labor Day is here

Hard to believe it's already September. I am glad I have a
ticket to see the Moody Blues tonight at Audubon Park.
I hope they'll play Forever Autumn.
Tomorrow I might go downtown and hear some free
music at the Southern Folklore Heritage Festival with 5
or 6 stages set up in downtown Memphis.
Monday I'm going to a party in a friend's backyard and
pig out and play some music too. It's a great party
and one I look forward to
every Labor Day.

What are you doing?

Pat Jones, Poet

Mary Ann Gwinn sent this to me this morning.

I don’t know if you remember Pat Jones in our class,
but she is now a well-known poet. Some folks brought
some of her poetry volumes to the reunion.
Here is her personal web site:

I learned this years ago when I took a creative writing class in
Seattle
and mentioned my home town; my instructor knew Pat.
