new picture on facebook

I just posted a class photo that Marilyn sent me of her sixth grade class, led by Mrs. Caldwell. Look on the second page of the old pictures album, we now have two pages of photos in there. Also if anyone has an old class photo of my grandmother's class (Mrs. Mildred McDaniel) I sure would appreciate a copy to post here and for other reasons of course.

Labor Day is here

Hard to believe it's already September. I am glad I have a
ticket to see the Moody Blues tonight at Audubon Park.
I hope they'll play Forever Autumn.
Tomorrow I might go downtown and hear some free
music at the Southern Folklore Heritage Festival with 5
or 6 stages set up in downtown Memphis.
Monday I'm going to a party in a friend's backyard and
pig out and play some music too. It's a great party
and one I look forward to
every Labor Day.

What are you doing?

Pat Jones, Poet

Mary Ann Gwinn sent this to me this morning.

I don’t know if you remember Pat Jones in our class,
but she is now a well-known poet. Some folks brought
some of her poetry volumes to the reunion.
Here is her personal web site:

I learned this years ago when I took a creative writing class in
Seattle
and mentioned my home town; my instructor knew Pat.

Class of 68 blog

Mary Ann Gwinn was nice to send me the url to the Class of 68 blog
which is below this message. I went there and was surprised to see so
much interaction. read all the posts and relive a lot of old memories.
This is what I had in mind for this blog, but then it's brand new so....
Feel free to start a topic and see what happens on this blog.

new facebook page

Well everybody, I think the new facebook page is off to a good start.
We contacted more people who couldn't make it to the reunion and asked them
to join us also. I'm sure we won't see ALL the photos since some don't have email.
If course anyone could make extra copies and mail them to me in Memphis
and I would post them. My next goal is to search my mother's house for other
class photos from elem. school. I know I saw three or four somewhere. If anyone else has these old photos please post them because we were all in different classes then.

I couldn't stand Ms. Linder in 4th grade also. I thought she was an old battleaxe.
LOL She gave me my first low grade in my life for some subject I long ago forgot
entirely.
Later you guys . . .
